Terms of Service

Konteks is operated by James Almeida (GSV). Contact: support@konteks.app.

Konteks reads data from sources you opt into (iOS Calendar, Reminders, Health, Weather, Google Calendar, AI providers via your own API key), turns them into "cards," and renders those cards in iOS widgets, an in-app feed, and chat replies. The service depends on third-party APIs (Apple, Google, your chosen AI provider) and on your iOS device — outages or rate limits in any of those will affect what Konteks can show.

Konteks is currently in a pre-release / personal-use phase. Features may change, break, or disappear. We make no guarantees that a feature available today will be available tomorrow.

To use linked sources (Google Calendar) and AI backends, you authorize Konteks to act on your behalf using OAuth tokens or API keys you provide. You're responsible for:

• Keeping your API keys safe.
• Any costs your AI provider charges for usage you incur through the Ask tab. Konteks does not subsidize or reimburse provider charges.
• Compliance with the terms of services you linked (e.g. Google's Terms of Service for Google Calendar access).
• What you ask the model to do. Konteks's tool calling can create, edit, and delete reminders and calendar events. You're responsible for confirming actions before they fire (the "Confirm Ask actions" toggle in You → ASK BEHAVIOR adds a confirmation step).

AI replies in the Ask tab are generated by third-party models (Apple Intelligence on-device, or Anthropic / OpenAI / OpenRouter / xAI / Moonshot via API). AI can be wrong, incomplete, or surprising. Konteks does not guarantee the accuracy of AI replies. Always verify before relying on AI-generated content for anything important (schedules, deadlines, medical info, financial decisions).

You agree not to:

• Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract source code from the app beyond what local laws expressly permit.
• Use Konteks to violate any law, infringe anyone's rights, or harass others.
• Abuse the service in ways that disrupt it for others (excessive API calls, automated farming, etc.).
• Use Konteks to extract bulk personal data from third-party services in violation of their terms.

The Konteks app, brand, source code, and design are owned by GSV / James Almeida. Open-source dependencies are licensed under their own terms (see the source repository for the full list). Your data is yours; we claim no ownership over calendar events, reminders, prompts, or anything else you run through the service.

The service is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

We don't guarantee Konteks will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure. We don't guarantee any specific feature, integration, or AI behavior. Pre-release software, plain and simple.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Konteks, GSV, and James Almeida are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages — including lost profits, lost data, missed appointments, or business interruption — arising out of or related to your use of the service.

If you live in a jurisdiction that doesn't allow limiting these damages, the limitations apply to the maximum extent allowed.

You can stop using Konteks at any time by deleting the app and emailing us to wipe your server-side data. We may suspend or terminate access if we believe it's being used to harm others or violate these terms. We'll give notice when reasonably possible.

We'll update these terms when the service evolves. The "Last updated" date at the top will move; for material changes we'll surface a notice in the app on next launch. Continued use after a change means you accept the new terms.

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, USA, without regard to its conflict of laws principles. Any disputes shall be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Los Angeles County, California.
